Understanding Professional Development Policies for Novice Lecturers: Perspectives from the University Management

Professional development policy is an initiative intended to up-skill novice lecturers, and in so doing improve university education. This qualitative case study was conducted explore the understanding of management on professional policies. Data were collected through in-depth interviews documents. The participants twelve at two selected public universities China including vice-chancellors, directors Academic Affairs Office, deputy deans, administrators Office. from documents supplied data obtained interviews. Then, using thematic analysis identify themes that emerged obtained. findings this indicated has a comprehensive deep As policymakers, they are aware what contains, which includes target group, goals, guiding principles, fields covered should take enact their role lecturer seriously, provide useful activities programs for lecturers help them.
